Preparation: The essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering ends and leaves.
Main components: Menthol, menton, cineol, menthylacetate.
Medical and cosmetic benefits: Peppermint oil is antibacterial, antiviral, antimicotic, effective painkiller and antispasmodic, cooling for the muscles, strengthening, detoxing and toning. Promotes digestion and the gall bladder, strengthens nervous system. Can be used for oral care, insect bites, inhalation and air-freshening.
Effect on the soul and mind: Increases alertness, helps concentration and perspicacity, encouraging.
Usage: 4-5 drops in aroma lamp, 8-10 drops in aroma bath. For skin cleansing, pour 4-5 drops into 1 dl vegetable oil or water.
Special notes: Peppermint oil can cause shortness of breath or even lung paralysis if it gets into the respiratory system of small children. For children younger than 6 years old it is forbidden to use the oil close to the respiratory organs, concentrated diffusing and direct inhalation included. Peppermint oil blocks the effects of homeopathic treatments so it isn't recommended to use during homeopathic therapy. Doesn't cause sensitivity, irritation, or phototoxicity. Slightly toxic oil.
