YLANG-YLANG (Cananga Odorata) APPLICATION

* Ylang-ylang extra essence is made of the first press of the flowers, while conventional is from the later presses. It has a much more sophisticated and mild scent, than average oils, and you need much less to achieve the same effect.

It doesn't matter what kind of cosmetic product you spruce up with this fantastic oil, be it homemade soap, body lotion, perfume or natural carrier oils, you will be hooked to use just a little bit more. 

Ylang-ylang oil is prefect for relaxation, it boosts your mood and senses, frees up repressed feelings, and enhances libido. In the Philippines, it is common to sprinkle ylang-ylang flowers on the bed of the married couple on the wedding night to ease the excitement of the first night.

Toning, firming and moistuizing on the whole body.

Diffusing: To create and intimate, calm environment, diffuse 1-2 drops of ylang-ylang in the aroma lamp. That small amount will be enough, because it has a really intense scent. Aromatherapists use it for relaxation, and invigoration of the senses. 

Relaxing aroma bath: Add 1-2 drops of essential mixed in 1 tablespoon of milk or honey to the bath. Recommended time of bath: 10-15 minutes. Firming, and soul stimulating.

Sensual massage:  Mix 1-2 drops of essential oil in 1 tablespoon of almond or sunflower oil and massage it in the skin.

Hair care: Add 2 drops of essential oil to 1 tablespoon of hair conditioner, and use it as usual. It tones and perfumes the scalp and hair.

Facial, neck and decoltage care: Mix 1 drop of essential oil in 1 teaspoon of sweet almond or jojoba oil, and gently massage it in the skin. It reduces sebum production in case of oily, acne prone skin, and restores the pH of the skin, so it is great for combination skin too, while reducing skin inflammations.

Great mixed with: geranium, sage,  grapefruit, lavender, orange, roman chamomile, clove.

Warnings:

Use it sparingly due to its very strong scent! High concentrations can cause headache! Not recommended in case of low blood pressure!
