Where can you build in the energy recovery pipe?
As you can see on the picture above, this can only be used if there is place directly under the shower plate.
The energy recovery system should be built in, so:
1, the machine is easily accessable, can be removed and put back,
2, the non-return valve and the closing fitting is accessible,
3, the room, where the machine is built, has to be heated, and the temperature can't be steadily more then 25 °C,
4, the machine can be used at 7-9 liter/minute flow rate. Using shower plate requires bigger machine.
The energy recovery system uses the heat of the showering water, which is possible because it flows the same time like the heating. So the machine doesn't work with full tubs that are drained after. You shouldn't attach sink to the recovery system, because the water from sinks are usually greasy, that sticks to the wall of the system, and this way it would reduce the efficiency.
If you pair energy recovery system with solar collectors, you will need less collectors for the same amount of energy.
Any plumber can build in the machine following the detailed instruction manual.
Advantages of the recovery system:
- Significant energy saving.
- Fast rate of return (if many people use your bathroom)
- Relatively easy to build in (recommended to time it when other renewal works are due).
- Practically no maintenance.
- Solid, minimal possibility of breakdown.
- Long life time.
- No need of other pumps, or electronic control.
- Doesn't need electricity.
